The University of Tennessee Equestrian Team travelled to Murray State University in Murray, KY this weekend, November 7th and 8th, to compete in the Zone 5 Region 1 IHSA Western Horse Show. Five teams were in attendance, including Middle Tennessee State University, Tennessee Tech University, Murray State University, and Western Kentucky University. The team performed well and won several ribbons. Despite having only 9 competitors while other teams had as many as 20 entries, the UT Equestrians were awarded High Point Team for Sunday's show. One "point rider" is chosen per division before the show begins, and they are recorded on a point sheet. At the conclusion of the show, the points those riders have been awarded are totaled, and a reserve high point rider and team, and a high point rider and team are announced.
