Distinguished Alumni Award in Entomology & Plant Pathology

The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology established a Distinguished Alumni Award to recognize an alumnus or alumna for his/her career accomplishments, professionalism, and dedication to science. The honor will recognize and promote both achievement and professionalism inentomology/plant pathology and related disciplines. Other goals include highlighting the accomplishments of alumni, enhancing alumni and graduate student connections, and highlighting the mentorship of current and past faculty. Entomology and Plant Pathology Outstanding Research Publication Award

The department will present an award to a student in entomology and plant pathology that demonstrated successful academic and research performance by having submitted a research paper for publication prior to their graduation. The paper should be based on work conducted at UT within EPP and submitted AND accepted prior to graduating.The Award will be presented at the Department’s Annual Winter Banquet. In any given year, should no nominations be received by the November 15 deadline or should none of the nominees have an outstanding academic, research and service record, the Award will not be presented. Entomology and Plant Pathology Re-entry Scholarship

The department will present an award to a current student in entomology or plant pathology for the purpose of upgrading their knowledge base and acquiring an advanced degree to better compete within the market place. The nominee should demonstrate that they have applied themselves through research, teaching, and service. The Award will be presented at the Department’s Annual Winter Banquet. In any given year should no nominations be received by the November 15 deadline or should none of the nominees have an outstanding academic, research and service record, the Award will not be presented. The scholarship will assist students with tuition, books and supplies, and be available on a competitive basis. Charles Wheeler Most Outstanding M.S. Student Award in Entomology

The department will present an award to a current Master’s student in entomology who demonstrated successful academic performance, and applied themselves through research, teaching, and service. Charles D. Pless Award

This award is bestowed annually to those members of the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology who have done the most to advance departmental goals and morale. Four awards can be given: one faculty, one support staff, one research staff, and one student. The qualifying criteria for this award are: “Bestowed annually on those members of the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology who have done the most to advance Departmental goals through their teamwork, dedication, and collegiality.” For more information visitclick here.
