Lynne Scott, IT Specialist IV

Have you ever wondered what happened to your classmates or former students? The Department of Animal Science challenged Michele Wilson, Animal Science support with Information Technology Services (ITS), to find an answer to that question as she developed the department’s new website.

Using her problem solving and technology skills and with assistance from the ITS developers, Wilson designed a way to highlight animal science alumni on the department’s homepage and incorporate their information into the department’s website. As an added bonus to this solution, spotlighting alumni has the potential to become a great marketing tool for the department. What better way to market the importance of the animal science program than to highlight the successes of its graduates?

Each time you visit, you will find a brief profile of an alumnus on the homepage. All submitted profiles can be read and searched by clicking the “alumni & friends” navigation item at the top of their pages.

If you are a graduate of the animal science department, they would be happy to hear from you so they can grow their alumni profiles. It’s easy! Send an email to and include your full name; animal science degree (with the year you graduated); a brief bio of what you are doing today, including your career and title; and attach a picture. That’s all! Let’s show the world what UTIA animal science graduates have accomplished!
