A New Ranavirus Threatens U.S. Amphibian Diversity
PhD student Davis Carter, along with his colleagues and professors, has released a publication on the fungal pathogen Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal).
A study on ranavirus, led by Matt Gray, was recently published in Ecological Modelling. Gray was lead PI on the project and mentored authors Peace and O'Regan, both post-docs with NIMBioS. Other authors include research associates in the Center for Wildlife Health (CWH), a PhD student in FWF, and a DVM student that worked in CWH.
Congratulations to graduate student Ana Towe, winner of the Terry Amundson Presentation Award at the International Wildlife Disease Association Conference. The award recognizes outstanding student research and scholarship in the field of wildlife health. Ana’s talk was titled ‘Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans in the Cuban treefrog (Osteopilus septentrionalis)’.
