September is here, but the market was sweltering and bustling as if it were still July. Very colorful donations were brought to the Grow Mor​​e, Give More booth, including another huge 25 lb watermelon, peppers, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes! 128.7 lbs were collected and delivered to KAR​M. Farmer’s market donors included: Seven Springs Farm and the UT Gardens. Thanks to all the market visitors and Grow More, Give More donors!

The market was bustling again as students get settled back into the campus routine. We had a marvelous turnout in terms of donations as well, collecting 101.2 lbs. of fresh produce. Jim at Seven Springs Farm donated a 43.8 lb bushel of sweet potatoes and Zavels Family Farms made a vibrant contribution of 14.2 lbs of eggplants! Our market donors also included: UT Gardens, and the UT Organic Farm. All the evening’s produce was donated to the Love Kitchen. Our total for the year is now 2,101 lbs. Wow! Thanks for the support!

We hit the one ton mark! We have successfully collected 2000 lbs of salvageable produce. Included in this total (and pictured) was another whopping watermelon, weighing in at 14.8lbs! A shout-out to Zavel's Family Farm is in order as well for the 46.6 lbs of vibrant, ripe, eggplants they donated. All 125.4 lbs that we collected last week were brought to Vestal UMC "Beacon of Hope." Our total for the year is 2,000.8 lbs. Our vendor donors included: UT Organic Farm, UT Gardens, Seven Springs Farm, Gramma's Pasties, and Zavel's Family Farms. Thank you for all the support!

Another great day at the market! With the help of our generous donors we collected 158.2 lbs of produce, including a hefty SIXTEEN pound watermelon and some great looking corn. The donations were delivered to Samaritan Place to be divided among the 4 Catholic charities. Our yearly running total is 1875.2 lbs. How exciting! Market Vendors include: UT Organic Farm, UT Gardens, Seven Springs Farm, Gramma's Pasties, and Zavels Family Farms.

Last week at the market we had an exceptional donation of 51.9 lbs from the UT Gardens, which helped bring our total for the day to 118.1 lbs! Awesome! Other market vendor donors included: UT Organic Farm, Seven Springs Farm, and Indian Cove Orchards. The produces from all the donors was simply beautiful with ripe squash, tomatoes, beans, eggplant, and juicy peaches. All the donations were delivered to the Love Kitchen. Our total for the year weighs in at 1717.2 lbs. so far! Thanks for all the support!

Last week at the market, every donation came delicious and beautiful peppers! We collected 116.7 lbs of produce last week, bringing our yearly total to 1599.1 lbs. Our generous market donors included the UT Gardens, UT Organic Farm, Seven Springs Farm, Gramma's Pasties, and Indian Cave Orchards. Indian Cave Orchards donated 21 pounds of absolutely gorgeous peaches, some of which I was personally eyeballing all evening. 111.7 lbs of the produce were sent to the Samaritan Place and the remaining 5 lbs were donated to KARM. Thanks so much to everyone for your donations and support!

We collected 96.4 lbs of fresh, delicious produce at the market this week, including a generous donation of 69 pounds of tomatoes from Seven Springs Farm. Market vendor donations include: UT Gardens, UT Organic Farm, and Seven Springs Farm. All donations were brought to Vestal United Methodist Church. This brings our total for the year to 1482.4 lbs! Thanks to all the donors!

Last week's donations to GMGM happened across two days. First, at the market Wednesday, we collected 282.6 pounds! The always generous market vendors helped with that, of course. The market vendor donors were: UT Organic Farm, the UT Gardens, Seven Springs Farm, and VGs Bakery. On Thursday, Gramma's Pasties, a vendor who sells delicious meat and fruit pies (pasties), donated an additional 5 lbs of his pasties. In all, our total for the year is 1381 lbs. and growing! All donations were taken to KARM.

We went over the 1,000 lb mark last week at the market! What an amazing milestone. Market vendors included: Crooked Road Farm, Seven Springs Farm, and UT Gardens. Our total weight of salvaged produce for Wednesday evening was 171.3 lbs, which was enough to push the total for the year over 1,000 lbs to 1,098.4 lbs! All the donations were sent to the Samaritan Place, and as the picture shows, the delivery van was quite weighed down. We love to see that! Thanks for all the wonderful donations!

While the Farmers Market was officially rained out this week, the continued generosity of UTIA employees and the help of a faithful volunteer who rounded up the donations on campus meant that 26 lbs were collected for Grow More, Give More, and were donated to KARM. That brings our total for the year to 927.1 lbs. Rain or shine, your donations make a difference in the community!

Last week's farmers market was, in the words of Mike Smith, "The best day ever for the GMGM program," as we collected 369.6 lbs (!) of salvagable prouduce Wednesday. This brings our total weight for the year to 901.1 lbs. Nearly a half ton! Special thanks to the market vendors who donated, including the UT Organic Farm, UT Garden, Seven Springs Farm, and Crooked Road Farm. All donations were divided and sent to Vestal UMC and Beacon of Hope Pantry. Thanks again for the WHOPPING donations pictured here loading down the back of the donation vehicle!

We collected 238.7 lbs of salvagable prouduce from our lovely donors at the market this Wednesday. This includes a tasty and hefty 88 lbs of ribs from Seven Springs Farm. Yum! Thank you to the market vendors who donated: UT Organic Farm, UT Gardens, VG Bakery and Seven Springs Farm. All donations were sent to the Samaritan Place. Our total for the year so far is 531.5 lbs and growing!

50.9 lbs of increasingly attractive produce was salvaged at the market this week! The donations are getting more bountiful as the season kicks into full swing. Market Vendor donors included the UT Organic Farm with 42.9 lbs of donations and Seven Springs Farm with 6.8 lbs of donations. Total collection amount for the year is 292.8 lbs, wow! Thanks for all your support! The produce was donated to Vestal United Methodist Church.

The donations were vibrant this week with a generous donation of 66.4 lbs ofsquash and zucchini (thanks Seven Springs Farm)! Altogether the total weight of salvaged goods this week were 99.7 lbs, making the yearly total a quickly climbing 241.9 lbs so far. Market Vendor donors included the UT Organic Farm, Seven Springs Farm, and the UT Gardens. Thanks for all your support!

It was a beautiful day for donations at Wednesday's market. A total of 85.7 lbs of produce were collected and donated to Vestal UMC's "Beacon of Hope" Pantry. Market vendor donors include The UT Organic Farm (12 lbs.), Seven Springs Farm (67.8 lbs), and UT Gardens (3 lbs). A total of 142.2 lbs of salvagable produce has been collected so far this year!

Thank you to our generous donors this week! With your help a total of 32.6 pounds of salvagable produce was collected at the UT Farmer's market this week, including a delicious contribution of 6.8 lbs of strawberries! The produce will be delivered to Samaritan Place in Knoxville for distribution. Market Vendor donors included: Seven Springs Farm (13.8 lbs. this week!), The UT Organic Farm (8.2 lbs.), and UT Gardens (1.8 lbs). Donations for the year total 56.5 lbs. Off to a great start!

What a sunny start to the 2015 GMGM season! Thanks to the generous market-goers, Seven Springs Farm, The UT Organic Farm, and the UT Gardens,  we salvaged 24 lbs to donate to the Love Kitchen. Last year GMGM provided 26,193 servings of fresh fruits and veggies to our neighbors in need and we can’t wait to see how much we can give away this year!
