There are multiple resources within Herbert and at UTK to help you plan and finance your study abroad activities. The primary resources are noted below.

  • Herbert Resources — The Herbert Study Abroad Coordinator (Adam Willcox;, your advisor, or your department’s international advisor will be important resources to you, especially regarding academic advising and helping to suggest specific programs and their best timing in your academic program. In addition,UTIA International Student Ambassadors who have been on study abroad experiences will also provide a valuable perspective. Also, feel free to stop by the UTIA International Programs Office in 101 McCord Hall!

  • Other Resources — The UTK Programs Abroad Office at the Center for International Education (CIE) will be an invaluable resource. Regarding semester abroad, go to a general information session which are held daily at 2:00 PM in the Programs Abroad Office.

  • Financial Resources — The Center for International Education (CIE) offers valuable suggestions on money matters, financial aid and scholarships both University-based and external. In addition and for semester abroad activities, all Herbert scholarships will apply to study abroad as well as to study at UTK.
