From the Senior Vice President
and Senior Vice Chancellor
May 29, 2020 Update
We've made it through another week effectively managing the issues created by the COVID-19 pandemic as we carry out programs to achieve our mission. This success is in large part due to your dedication to ensuring the health and safety of others.
Let's all continue to practice the guidelines that help reduce the spread of this virus. More than 1,000 faculty and staff have already taken the mandatory COVID-19 training, which is a remarkable number! Everyone should have received an individual link to the training via email. We encourage everyone to complete the training as soon as possible, regardless of when you will return to your work station.
Phase II will most likely begin on June 8. However, our expectation is that we will continue to encourage, allow, or require employees to work remotely from home for now. The UTIA Executive Committee will meet next week to review our COVID-19 guidelines and, if there are updates, we will share these with you.
There have been a number of questions about facilities on the Knoxville campus. These links to more information about temporarily closed spaces due to COVID-19 exposure and cleaning and sanitation may be of interest.

Finally, I want to once again thank Robert Burns for his service as dean of UT Extension. He has made a tremendous impact on our program and will continue to do so as our precision livestock farming specialist. All the best to Robert and his family.
Have a great weekend,
