From the Senior Vice President
and Senior Vice Chancellor
August 7, 2020
As you know, there is no Fireside Chat today. However, this does not mean that a lot of work to prepare for re-opening our campus and offices is not underway. I know many of you are implementing plans to staff our UTIA offices in the safest way, using CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of all involved as best we can. Thanks for your work to scale up accessibility to our teaching, research, and Extension programs.
During the next two weeks, students will be returning to the Knoxville campus, and there has been tremendous planning completed to provide safe and clean facilities for them. These plans have enabled us to be very well prepared to ensure that we have a healthy campus environment in our classrooms, laboratories, and common spaces. I'd like to share this campus-specific information with our faculty and staff.
We will hold a special Fireside Chat on Monday, August 10, at 2 p.m. Dave Irwin, associate vice chancellor for UT Knoxville facilities services, will join us as our guest to share a summary of the changes that have been made to facilities since the COVID-19 outbreak in early March. Please note: All UTIA employees are welcome to attend; however, this session will be specific to our Knoxville-based locations.
Have a great weekend, keep following all our practices to keep yourself and your family and friends healthy, and I'll see you next week.
