KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Michele Sides has joined the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and the UT Foundation, Inc., as director of advancement for the western Tennessee region.

“Michele brings wonderful knowledge of the Institute with her as well as private industry experience,” said UTIA Chancellor Larry Arrington.  “She will provide us a vital link to our constituents in West Tennessee and help with many key programs in that part of our state.”

In this newly created role, Sides will be responsible for advancement efforts for UTIA in the western Tennessee region, working out of the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center in Jackson.

“Michele’s ability to communicate well with a broad audience is exceptional,” said UTIA Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement Keith Barber. “Her unique talents compliment the other members of the Advancement Team as we seek private investments for the UTIA.  We are very fortunate to have her working with us.”

Sides most recently served as a family and consumer science agent for UT Extension in Chester County.  Prior to that she was a store manager for Parker School Uniforms and owner of Tailored for Two in Jackson, Tenn.

Sides holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee-Martin and is currently pursuing her master’s in family and consumer science at the institution.
