Plans are to extend outreach to constituents and alumni

Lauren Vath has joined the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture Office of Institutional Advancement and UT Foundation as a communications coordinator. In her role Vath will assist with a variety of communications projects to help the Institute reach out to constituents and alumni.

“Lauren brings wonderful experience to the Institute from her previous service with Carson-Newman University,” said UTIA Vice Chancellor for Advancement Keith Barber. “She will fill a new role in our office that will help us address some communications needs involving our clientele across the state and nation.”

Carson-Newman University in journalism and graphic design. Her first job was city beat reporter and education editor for the Greeneville Sun. From there she returned to Carson-Newman to work in their university relations department as a news and multimedia specialist. 

Vath will be responsible for communications projects that include newsletters, event coordination, social media and feature writing. She will compose content for promotional pieces and websites as needed and work closely with the UTIA Marketing and Communications staff. 

“I am excited to join such an exceptional group and partner my skills to advancing the impact of the Institute of Agriculture,” Vath said.  “The work being done here by all of the units of UTIA is significant and globally important. I’m excited to be a part of that.”
