SMART Center Activities

Nov 20, 2014: TDEC hosts it's final external stakeholder Committee Meeting in Fraklin, TN.  SMART Center faculty presented an update on the upcoming runoff reduction tool and committee feedback was addressed pertaining to the draft Tennessee Permanent Stormwater Management and Design Manual. Look for public release December 31, 2014.

 

Nov 4-5, 2014: SMART Center faculty Daniel Yoder, John Tyner, and Andrea Ludwig speak at the TN Stormwater Association/Knox County Green Development Symposium.  Knoxville, TN.

 

Sept 24, 2014: SMART Center faculty conduct a Tennessee Smart Yards Rain Garden workshop at the Annual Tennessee Stormwater Association Meeting, Henry Horton State Park.  Along with our sponsors, we installed a rain garden with over 40 conference participants. Check out our youtube video!

 

June 29, 2014:  SMART Center faculty Danield Yoder partners with TDEC's Robby Karesh to update water professionals from across the state on the Permanent Stormwater Management Design Manual at the TN AWRA Summer Symposium on Green Infrastructure in Tennessee.  Nashville, TN. 

 

October 10, 2013: SMART Center faculty secure a Green Insfrastructure Grant for a constructed wetland and rain gardens on the UT campus in Knoxville!  Click here for announcement of Green Infrastructure Grants Awardees.  Funded by the TN Department of Conservation, Tennessee Valley Authority, and TN Department of Transportation and awarded through the TN Stormater Association. 

Oct 4, 2013: Tennessee Smart Yards hosts a Train-the-Trainer Rain Garden Workshop near Crossville, TN, at the Plateau AgResearch and Education Center. 

Sept 24-26, 2013: The SMART Center is a sponsor of the 2013 Water Education Summit in Chattanooga, TN.  Funded through the Southern Regional Water Program, USDA-National Institude for Food and Agriculture. 

July 25, 2013: SMART Center Faculty Daniel Yoder and Andrea Ludwig present at the International Erosion Control Association Roadshow in Murphreesboro, TN.  See their presentations below:
