Position:  Turfgrass Student Internships, both 3 month and 6 month positions available. 


Course Name: Country Club of the Rockies, Vail, Colorado.


Course Operation: 18 holes, private membership, 7,300 course yardage, Penn A-4 greens, Penneagle II tees, Bentgrass/Poa annua fairways, Kentucky bluegrass near rough, native grasses in extreme rough, Toro Site-Pro/Lynx irrigation system, PSI/Flowtronex VFD pump system, $1.4 million annual maintenance budget, summer staff of 30.


Duties: Cultural practices, irrigation maintenance and watering practices, fertilizer calibration and application, control product calibration and application, ITM scouting and monitoring, golf course set-up/detail and hand watering, irrigation installation and maintenance, grass/sand bunker renovation, and sodding/seeding work.


Educational Requirements: Must be currently enrolled in a turf management/horticultural university program


Special Requirements – Individuals should have very good listening, communication, and organizational skills. Should be very ambitious and able to perform at a very high level in a very fast paced work environment on a daily basis. Must have a willingness to learn and be dedicated in getting the most out of an internship. Not interested in experience, we need dedicated students who want to learn and put forth the effort needed to do so. Our goal is to prepare an individual to move to an assistant or AIT position.  


Wage Scale: $12.00 per/hr
