An internship at Crooked Stick in 2015 could lead to a great opportunity to be a part of the staff for the 2016 BMW Championship. We are currently starting our preparation for the tournament and have plenty of projects and renovations that will help students get hands on experience in all facets of golf course maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, goal-oriented individual with an eye for detail and desire to learn.

In 2014 we have been quite busy with projects in preparation for the tournament and expect that we will be continuing through the 2015 golf season. This year we have rebuilt and enlarged one of our putting greens, installed over 3.5 miles of infrastructure drainage, and completed about 50% of a cartpath renovation. We are also planning to build two new tees, renovate multiple sets of tees, and build a new nursery. Some of the bigger changes of the season will be constructing a new lake that will take up a large portion of the par 3, 17th hole and completing a bunker renovation the includes the construction of a few new bunkers, complete removal of old material in existing bunkers, installation of additional drainage and Better Billy Bunker liner.

In the upcoming season there are plans to renovate our entire practice facility, finish our cartpath renovation, install additional drainage, rebuild our crossings over water features, and most importantly focus on promoting healthy turfgrass so that we can be at the top for 2016. Our most recent tournament at Crooked Stick was the 2012 BMW Championship which was voted the PGA Event of the year and we are making every effort possible to make sure that the next event is better.

Interns will have a large role in helping to complete these projects as well as continue to maintain and improve the golf course. The unprecedented experience offered through an internship at Crooked Stick is truly an opportunity of a lifetime and I hope that students are not hesitant to contact me with any questions.
