The Information Technology Service Catalog establishes standards for technology-based services provided to the Institute community to meet their business needs while streamlining development and management efficiencies that improve the sustainability of IT solutions and services. Services are considered effort that IT professionals perform for the Institute community to meet their business needs through the provision of Information Technology outlined below.

Application Development

Consultation and development of custom data-driven, web-based solutions to meet business or program needs.

Example solutions include:

  • Extension SUPER, Online Reporting System

Consultation/Project Review Request

Computer Support and Consulting 

Comprehensive suite of services defining the support path, providing client support (application and issue resolution) and providing (hardware and software) recommendations to meet the needs of the Institute’s community.
Examples include:
  • Equipment Support: New System Setup, Issue Resolution, Application Usage or Troubleshooting, Vendor Contact, Specialty Systems
  • Desktop Application Support: Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Quicken
  • Recommendations: Hardware and Software Solutions, including operating system

Data Integration and Database Design

Includes the creation, maintenance and support of Microsoft SQL Server databases for various applications. This includes design and implementation of complete packages of hardware, database software, database administration, and system administration in support of user data (base) needs.

Data Storage Solutions*

Consultation on the appropriate data storage strategy to store and protect the Institute’s data, including recommendations of appropriate storage method.

Coordinating and supporting the response to a computer security event or incident.
Examples include:

Comprehensive suite of security-based services to provide awareness training, ensure compliance, evaluate risk, monitor vulnerability and consultation to develop secure technology solutions.
Example solutions include: 
  • Sensitive Data: Secure Access, Storage, Transmission
  • Risk Assessment: Unit, Department, Service, Proposed Project
  • Vulnerability Scan
  • IT Compliance: FERPA, HIPAA, PCI (includes solutions that collect money through approved credit cards methods)

IT Training

Facilitate referral and deliver direct training on relevant technology topics and the effective use of the technologies available to the Institute community. Training and information resources are sourced both externally and developed in-house to cover a range of software, hardware and services.

Provide information on available infrastructure and guidance in selecting the appropriate solution to meet the server and network needs of the Institute.

Online Collaboration Tools

The Institute's collaboration service is a web-based communication and collaboration platform used for content management, workforce collaboration and streamlined communications. Institute departments, faculties or project teams are able to design and build branded intranet or team site, which can be used by internal or external colleagues.

Consultation and development of online learning solutions for the Institute community in the K@TE system.

Spatial Data Design and Presentation

Consultation and training in acquiring, collecting, analyzing, visualizing, sharing and preserving spatial data. Geospatial data suitable for use in GIS mapping software come in a variety of formats, including vector, raster and data tables.

Web Design, Development, Hosting and Maintenance

Consultation, design, development and maintenance of websites and web-based applications housed on the Institute’s content management system and web-hosting platform.

  • Migrate: Legacy Websites into CMS
  • Develop: HTML, PHP, .NET
